British Small Wind Association

British Small Wind Association

Just a quick note to say we support the new British Small Wind Association and their sterling efforts to promote an alternative to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for wind tubines.

The objectives of the BSWA

  • To be a not for profit association promoting the interests of the British Small Wind Industry (defining small wind as 50Kw and less)
  • To offer a realistic alternative to MCS which ensures standards in the small wind industry (see draft agenda below)
  • To promote a quality installer network focused on the quality of work rather than the detail of paperwork
  • To work together to promote the general interests of the industry particularly in respect of planning problems and education of all involved in the planning process
  • To work with Divisional Network Operators to simplify the procedures and administration for connection of a small wind turbine
  • To encourage the exchange of ideas and technology which will generally benefit the industry by reducing costs or increasing power production
  • To organise a small wind turbine exhibitio n which all small wind turbine companies can attend at reasonable cost
  • To provide an association which all small wind turbine companies can afford to join and everyone with an interest in small wind can afford to be a part of
  • To forge links with other small wind associations in other Countries for the general benefit of the small wind industry
  • To help all member companies attend foreign exhibitions. There are many ways for to help companies reduce the costs of attending overseas exhibitions – for example sharing space on a stand or consolidating carriage when companies wish to have their own stand

If you are interested in joining this very worthwhile association and supporting its excellent cause, pease download the application form (below). It's currently only £5 so there's really no reason not to!
