
Selling Electricity
The above diagram illustrates a typical installation for selling power to an electricity company. The rates vary a huge amount and if you're lucky enough to have a house in France EDF will pay you a whopping 60 Euro cents for each kilowatt hour.
The local electricity company won't buy it unless it's made compatible with their grid by using what's know as a Grid Tie Inverter. They'll also need to measure your electricity production using an export meter. The diagram above illustrates the flow of electricity to and from a house/building with solar panels.
