
Selling Electricity - Feed in tariffs (FITs)
The above diagram illustrates a typical installation for selling solar solar panel power to an electricity company.
The local electricity company won't buy it unless it's compatible with the grid by using what's know as a Grid Tie Inverter. They'll also need to measure your electricity production using an export meter and your electricity consumption using a production meter. You can frequently be paid more for using your own electricity than simply exporting it. Make hay while the sun shines!
