Solar panels are made from strings of solar cells. The solar cells are soldered together in strips by a process know as tabbing. A typical solar cell will measure 7.5 x 15cm (3x6 inches), it's ouput will be about 1/2 a volt and can generate about about 3.5Amps in full sun.
