Solar panel connection box with lightning protection

Junction box for connecting solar panels together.

The possitive and negative outputs from each solar panel (or each pair of panels if it's a 24 volt system) are connected at the top. On the left and right hand side are the lightning protection diodes.

The output of the GCB is protected with two trip switches that make it easy to disconnect the array(s) for installation and maintenance.

We stock 4 different sizies for 2,4,6 and 8 modules (or pairs in series at 24V) Custom sizes available on request

You don't always have to install one for stand alone systems but it's very good practise to do so. They are a legal requirement for grid connected systems in most countries. In which case this box is refered to as the main DC disconnect switch with lightning/overvoltage protecton (OVP)

Above generator coupling box (GCB) is for 6 panels with overvoltage protection so its a GCB6 - OVP
